New videos by London acts SOIWT reckons are well decent…

Gaoler’s Daughter – Cordelia (VIDEO OF THE WEEK)
A handsome, hipsterish trailer couple operate some sort of murky, classic car-stealing racket, burying tins of money and angering Alsatians along the way. Meanwhile, the whimsical, attractive new tune by GD sounds, its terrific guitars striking a whimsical, surf-rock tone.

Sivu – Bodies
His last video, shot with an MRI scanner, was quite something and this new Sivu film doesn’t disappoint. Ostensibly, it sees the singer being chauffered around a gaudy, often-grim night-time LA, an overwhelming landscape of neon, voices, sirens and strife.  The atmospherica suits the operatic notes of this excellent song, one which, I think, gets better with every listen.

Thumpers – Unkinder (A Tougher Love)
All angles, water and bleachery, the video might not be too amazing but I sure do like this cheery, chanty new Thumpers tune, from the currently-out Unkinder EP.

No Middle Name – Another Season
Simple but excellent – that goes for both song and video. No Middle Name is David Bailey (not that one), one half of The Title Sequence. The song’s out now via Mollusc Records.

Hurts – Somebody To Die For
I have no idea what is going on here. None at all.
